Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

Life is unpredictable and we all need some help and guidance from time to time. Through one of our insurance providers, all employees (and their families) have access to our EAP program. It provides confidential help 24 hours a day, seven days a week for employees and their family members. Areas of assistance include:

  • Family
  • Parenting
  • Addictions
  • Emotional
  • Legal
  • Financial
  • Relationships
  • Stress

Short-term disability (STD) benefits

Short-term disability (STD) insurance is intended to protect your income for a short duration in case you become ill or injured.

Our STD plan is a benefit that provides 60% of weekly salary up to $1,500 per week for employees who are unable to work due to non-work-related illness, injury or disability, after an absence of more than seven days. We pick up an additional 40% of weekly salary. So if STD is implemented for you, you’ll get 100% of your weekly pay.

We pay 100% of the premium and the benefit period is for 13 weeks.

Long-term disability (LTD) benefits

Gorilla’s LTD plan is a benefit that provides 60% of monthly salary up to $6,000 per month for employees who are unable to work due to non-work-related illness, injury or disability, after an absence of more than 90 days.

An employee is eligible for coverage after having completed the required employment time as stated in the policy. We pay 100% of the premium.

401(k)

As soon as you start at Gorilla, you’re eligible to participate in our 401(k). It’s a great way to begin a systematic program of tax-advantaged retirement savings with the added advantage of having a company contribution included.  We’ll match your savings dollar-for-dollar up to 3%, then match 50 cents on the dollar for the next 2%.

You have the option of choosing your own investments, either on your own or with the help of a financial advisor. You’re fully vested upon enrollment.

Gorilla Gives

We want to leave the world better than we found it. That’s why we’ve started Gorilla Gives — an ongoing program encouraging our team to get involved in the community.

Currently, we’re working with City Academy, teaching a 5th grade class about marketing and messaging. For our winter day of action, we do a company-wide day of service on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Additionally, to celebrate employee birthdays, we always make a donation on the employee’s behalf to a charity of their choice.

Corporate matching

Giving back and supporting your community, whatever and wherever it may be, is important. That’s why we have a corporate matching program in place. We’ll match up to $350 per year per employee for any donation made to an officially registered 501(c)3. If an employee is on the board of the nonprofit, we’ll match up to $760 annually.

Simply make your donation (in chunks to one or to many charities, or all at once to one charity), and pass your receipts to the employee success department.

Professional development

As a company rooted in results and improvement, we want and expect our employees to grow in their time at Gorilla. That’s why we budget approximately $1,500 per employee, per year, for purposes of professional development. This may come in the form of training and online classes or in the form of a week-long conference. Regardless, it’s our expectation that employees will always be working to make themselves better.

As for books, our best and brightest have always been curious. That’s why we’ll buy any book for any employee at any time, provided they read the book and share at least one learning with the team. We’re all about growth at Gorilla; this is one more way we can foster that.
